Norgenta North German Life Science Agency is a project run jointly by Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein to enable the qualification of the North German life science region.

Our goals are the development of the substantial growth potential for innovative medicine and biotechnology, and the expansion and marketing of North Germany as a leading international Life Sciences region. The agency is a central contact point for all Life Science related activity in this region.

Project facilitation
Norgenta facilitates innovative, interdisciplinary projects for the medical, medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields. Besides scientific results, the creation of employment opportunities, establishment of firms and availability of growth capital in north Germany are our primary goals. Norgenta also co-ordinates access to public business promotion programmes and private financing, offers support in patenting and patent marketing, and is available for assistance with queries relating to the establishment of firms.

Networking
The agency sees itself as a cluster manager. Regular contact with research groups and firms in the north German region and beyond enables the targeted combining of potential associates, and their projects, from the fields of research and economics. The successful practical application of scientific projects is a decisive factor in the sustainable development of this field in the region.

Marketing
Making international recognition for the north German life science region a reality is of vital importance. The organization of events in the region, a presence at exhibitions in selected target countries, and targeted bilateral and multilateral co-operation with other life science regions are amongst the multiple communicative activities being implemented. In addition, service and dialogue-enabled information platforms are being utilized.
